Project description
The double-track coastal mountain line in Cinque Terre, especially in the Bonassola section, runs mainly on bridges through low-lying coastal villages. As there is no spatial separation between the tracks and the inhabited coastal sections, the railroad noise spreads particularly strongly into the funnel-shaped coastal areas.
The rail operator was looking for a noise protection system that met the following criteria:
- Compact design
- Quick and easy installation
- Visually integrated into the existing bridge structure
The decision fell in favor of KRAIBURG STRAIL’s IP noise protection solution. The infill panels are equipped with vulcanized mounting rails, allowing for easy and rapid installation on existing railings. In addition, the outward-facing surfaces of the infill panels are finished in a concrete look, visually harmonizing with the bridge structure.
The IP panels blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape while providing highly effective noise reduction, ensuring the necessary piece and quiet for the affected coastal areas.
