Project description
In order to enhance safety at one of the busiest train stations in Schleswig-Holstein and prevent unauthorized access to the track area, AKN Eisenbahn GmbH opted for grid.
At Ulzburg Süd station, the innovative solution was installed over a 30 m² area. grid’s universal panels feature numerous rubber pyramids of varying height arranged in a staggered pattern. This special surface acts as an effective deterrent, preventing both people and animals from entering the track area.
A decisive advantage of the system is its flexibility: the panels can be individually adapted to the technical conditions on site and quickly installed and removed.
The swift and successful completion of the project validated the choice. Sven-Niklas Franke, Head of Railway Maintenance at AKN Eisenbahn GmbH, expressed his full satisfaction once the project was finalized:
“The grid panels were installed in just 3.5 hours and meet all our expectations. We will definitely consider this product again for similar projects.”
This example highlights grid’s crucial role in improving operational safety across railway infrastructure.
